Blizzard, Their Website, and Interacting with Players

The Pink Pigtail Inn has been talking about Blizzard's lack of interaction with the blog-o-sphere.  This discussion is morphing into one about Blizzard's website and their interaction with players in general.  There are no recommendations here, and I do understand the time and effort maintaining an updated site takes, but the vibrant community built by and for WOW players is a backhanded critique of the lack of interest Blizzard has in providing accurate and updated information about a complex game they profit from.
