Blizzard to Abandon Players with Older Macs

! Up points out a blue posting that spells out the fact that a pre-Cataclysm update will remove the ability for older Macs to play WOW.  If your Mac has the Power PC chip, your gameplay will be effected.

How Long Until Cataclysm?

I have no idea.  The beta for Cataclysm started last July.  I looked up the date Wrath of the Lich King's beta hit (July 19, 2008) and when Lich King was released (November 13, 2008).  It is likely that Cataclysm will hit sometime in prime Christmas shopping season (i.e., mid-November 2010).

It won't be November 9, 2010 as that is when Call of Duty Black Ops is to be released.  Activision has spent a ton of money on Black Ops.  They won't release two big games on the same date.  I'm betting Cataclysm is released November 23.
