Since tomorrow we are having extended maintenance, it looks like the pre-Cataclysm changes of Patch 4.0.1 are about to be shoved down our throats.  What to do?!!

There are three places to look for helpful information.  I always go to WOW Head first.

Patch 4.0.1 and Cataclysm Information

Postings about how the game is about to change drastically are starting to show up all over.  I'm putting the class information in the tabs right under the header photo and highlighting the postings in Blue.  More general articles (glyphs and gems in Patch 4.0.1 or how flying works in Cataclysm) are listed as blog entries.

Glyphs and Gems (and Professions) in Patch 4.0.1

WOW Insider summarizes how glyphs and gems (and professions) will change when Patch 4.0.1 hits. I've discovered the rumor that this major pre-Cataclysm patch will hit tomorrow originated with MMO Champion.  They'll usually pretty accurate so get ready for chaos.  By the way, there's going to be extended maintenance on October 12.  It'll start at 12 A.M. and last until 12 P.M. PDT.  Sounds like MMO Champion is right.
