How to Turn Off Chat in Elder Scrolls Online

The chat line in Elder Scrolls Online can be quite annoying.  There are several ways to deal with it.  You can turn it off completely by right clicking on the tabs in the chat window and go to settings where you can unclick all the tabs and hide the window.

You can go into options and lower the voice volume all the way down.  Sounds like going to Social and then Voice Chat and "hit square in the channel" turns it off but apparently this has to be done over again every time you log into the game.

You can also hide Chat or minimize the window greatly.

I think all of the above are for PC players but I can't confirm this.

Mobile Guild Chat and Blizzard's Other New Gizmos

Larisa looks at the new features Blizzard has introduced in the last year or so, tries to decide which are hits (sparkle pony) and which are misses (in-game chat line and the mobile Auction House), and wonders which category the mobile guild chat capability will fall in.  She doesn't mention the mobile Armory, which I've wondered about.  Does anyone pay for this?

Guild Chat Planned for Mobile Armory UPDATED

This costs extra and will be added to the regular Armory later.  whoopeehttp://wow.joystiq.com/2010/09/21/guild-chat-coming-to-the-mobile-armory-app/

When Kotaku mentioned this, they were less than enthusiastic and also wondered if the timing of the announcement had anything to do with ArenaNet's article about the same functionality.

Here's how it works with ArenaNet in Guild Wars 2.

Voice Chat for PUG Groups in Beta Testing

Apparently, you use your browser window to go to their website, open a chat room and just add everyone in your pick up group via a shared link.  Since this is targeted at WOW players, a little bit of Amory information appears on the players in the PUG and you assign roles via a pull down menu.  Judging from the screen shot, there are links to reference sites at the bottom so you can look up things (via another browser window?).
