I've read comments on various blogs that say if you have turned off Real ID, you can't get into the Cataclysm beta. You probably have to talk to Blizzard's Customer Service Hell to get Real ID turned on again.
Why isn't turning Real ID on/off easier? Because they've put it in Parental Controls and don't want Little Johnnie having a work-around?
