Activision Strikes Again

Activision Blizzard featured strippers at their Game Developers Conference private suite.  GDC goers consider this very bad taste as the conference is supposed to be about the developers, not marketing.

In other bad publicity, Activsion's Modern Warfare 2 newest map pack costs 1200 points for three new maps and two old ones.  1200 points equals $15 USD.  Ars Technica points out that if people buy this, Activision makes a bundle.  If they don't, Activision can lower the price and still make a good profit.

Same story, same negative response to it.

To aid in price comparisons, Halo 3 map pack prices cost 600-800 points (and one is free), Call of Duty World at War prices are 800 points (unless you buy all three map sets bundled for 2000 points), the three Borderlands map packs cost 800 each, and the Gears of War 2 map packs are 400 or 800 points unless you buy collections of map packs which cost 1200 or 1600 points, depending on which one you select.

By the way, the Infinity Ward leaders Activision fired have signed on with a big time Hollywood agent.
