Guildwatch Offers Warning Signs To Watch For

The Guildwatch column is a bit late but makes up for it by giving you a guild with three warning signs you ought to watch out for when considering joining a guild--first of all, the guild name (Instability) wouldn't give me a good feeling.  Then the fact that the guild is run by co-guild leaders that happen to be romantically involved is never a good sign.  Of course the guild leaders' names (Tinkerbell and Anonymous) are also a tip-off that perhaps you should run away, run away!

Regardless of whether you should heed warning signs, this guild's been full of drama lately.  Members complained of Tinkerbell's behavior in raids to no avail as Anonymous wouldn't hear any criticism of her.  Then it came out that Anon was recruiting new players just to blame them for raid failures Tinkerbell caused and a lot of guild members quit.  Folks also complained Tinkerbell was just using the guild to pick up fragments for the Legendary Mace.  She admitted it, then she and Anon looted the guild bank and waltzed away to Legion of Accordance where they've been promised raiding slots to continue completing the Mace.

Doesn't get any better than that!

On other topics a lot of the guild drama this week centers on the new transfer program.  Many guilds complain high level guilds are transferring (at $25 a person) to a new server just to pick up the first raiding achievements, then switching back to the original server (another $25).  "Tourists" is a kind word for these folks. Carpetbaggers is another term which I'd use.  At any rate, Blizzard makes money off these transfers and hasn't made any moves to protect new servers from guilds showing up from older ones to nab these achievements.
