Is Cataclysm the End of WOW?

Now that the Cataclysm Beta is well under way, I'm starting to see articles like the ones below from long-time players who are comparing various aspects of the WOW expansions to Lich King and find them lacking.  This leads them to worry about what Cataclysm has in store.

The tier sets in Lich King are inferior to those in earlier expansions and the original game.

Thanks to the Pot, I discovered this great analaysis of the game through Lich King.  This is definitely worth a read if you are interested in game design as Blacksen talks at length about various game mechanics added in both PvE and PvP play.

Many people are playing wow, so I bet it's not the end of Wow game.

Probably not. But we see a huge drop off in the quality of the information written up about the game. I think a lot of senior players have moved on and I think they won't be back for Cataclysm. After all, it'll only take 2-3 months for the new content to be burned through. By February I predict the starter zones will be empty again.
